About the Team
The Senior Software Engineer - Platforms will join a dynamic and innovative team at Nutanix focused on developing and supporting cutting-edge solutions for the Foundation Central product line. This team, predominantly located in India, collaborates closely with professionals in the US, fostering a culture of cross-functional teamwork, open communication, and a strong emphasis on problem-solving. The team's mission at Nutanix is to ensure that the Foundation Central platform meets the high standards of performance and reliability expected by customers while addressing vendor interactions and customer escalations effectively. The diverse cultural background of the team members enhances collaboration and creativity, resulting in robust solutions that drive the company forward.
You will report to the Director of Engineering, who emphasizes a leadership style that promotes independence and ownership among team members. The manager encourages self-driven individuals and values the ability to make decisions autonomously while ensuring strong communication within the team. The role is hybrid, allowing flexibility in the work setup, with the expectation that the hire will be in the office for collaborative sessions several days a week, to be determined based on project needs and team meetings.
This position does not require travel, as the primary interactions will occur within the US and with teams based in India. The focus will be on remote collaboration and effective communication across time zones, particularly during US working hours to manage customer escalations and vendor interactions.
Your Role
- Lead architectural discussions and design closures for the Foundation Central product line.
- Manage and resolve vendor interactions and customer escalations during US time zones.
- Develop and implement features in a microservices architecture using Python and Go.
- Collaborate with US and India teams on product development and customer support.
- Participate in cross-functional collaboration with OEM partners and other teams.
- Drive innovation by contributing to next-generation architecture and feature development.
- Foster a culture of independence, ownership, and problem-solving within the team.
- Achieve familiarity with the Foundation Central platform and onboard new OEM partners.
What You Will Bring
- Proficiency in Go programming languages
- Understanding of x86 server architecture and storage systems
- Knowledge of operating system concepts and system-level understanding
- Experience with microservices architecture, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Strong problem-solving skills for addressing vendor concerns and customer escalations
- Experience in hardware-software integration
- Ability to work independently and engage effectively with global teams
- Excellent communication skills and adaptability to cultural differences
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $148,000 and USD $ 296,400 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
